BEAF 2023, Bournemouth, UK
Exhibition Design
Overview:
The highly anticipated Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe (BEAF) 2023 art festival showcased the vibrant Boscombe World exhibition. This captivating event featured a diverse range of installations, with the spotlight firmly on the thought-provoking work of renowned artist Harold Offeh. Part of the installation explored the tragic story of a whale intertwined with the intriguing history of Boscombe.
Playing a crucial role in the exhibition’s success, BED studio provided design and development support. We were involved from the initial concept design all the way to the construction and completion of the project. The centerpiece of the exhibition was a striking 12-meter-long whale carcass, meticulously crafted using birch plywood elements that cleverly fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.
Commissioned by BEAF, the scaffold structure pavilion was exclusively developed by the team at BED studio. Its presence on the bustling high street of the seaside town created an immersive and exciting atmosphere, generating significant buzz among visitors.
